Our Learning to See
Youth Outreach is taught by local artists. These instructors have been
chosen because of their commitment and passion for art, as well as for their
desire to share that excitement with the youth in our community.

She studied art at Ventura Community College and has taken workshops with watercolorist Robert E. Wood. “Teaching for the LTS program allows me to incorporate my two strongest passions: to create art and connect with children. I want their art experience to be exploratory, non-threatening and fun. I’m more interested in the children’s process of creating art and connecting with it in a personal way than in the aesthetic result.”
Janet has taught at the Claremont Colleges, California State University Long Beach, Long Beach City College, and the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Besides working in her Ventura studio on her ceramics, Janet is also an art instructor at University Charter Middle School in Camarillo.
Since then, Heidi has grown as an exhibiting artist specializing in bronze sculpture, watercolor painting, as well as assemblage. She also loves to share her passion for art and creativity as an art educator for children and adults. Heidi’s inspiration lies in nature and spirit, further fostered by the dramatic landscape of her Ojai residence. Personal website: www.zinart.com |
