Marcia Cummings Marcia Cummings

Sculptor/Painter

Portrait by Donna Granata - 1999

Marcia Cummings (1942 - )

Marcia Cummings' assemblages deal with social issues in an intellectually stimulating and witty way. Her award winning work grapples with contemporary topics including women's issues, sex, hypocrisy, overpopulation, and artist anguish. The artist's works reflect her philosophical views on art and society and her "trying" personal experiences raising a family while at the same time preserving her muse - a dilemma many artistic parents face, particularly women.

Marcia Cummings' documentation took place in 1997 and was sponsored by Cafe Voltaire, Sol Ramon and Richman Peace and Policy Foundation.  The FOTM Archive contains extensive information about this artist.
