What was your first encounter with the wonderful world of art? When did you first become aware of all those terrific men and women who make exciting, gorgeous things? When did you learn to see?
Here at FOTM we take the art of learning about art very seriously. Over decades we have polished and refined our unique, award-winning program of arts education. It’s called Learning To See. Quite simply, we think we’ve got a product that deserves your support.
What makes our program different?
The teachers we send into classrooms around the county are artists. They bring an artist’s perspective to the classroom. We help children understand the way art and algebra, art and history, art and science intersect. We remind the students that art is not confined by the four walls of a museum, but that art is part of everyday life.
Where do we find the artists whose lives form the core of a lesson?
From our amazing Archive. We’ve extensively documented close to 200 superb artists, men and women who have overcome challenges the students themselves may be facing.
What can you do?
We do depend on the generosity of our supporters. And we are very grateful for your support. Your donations mean that we can reach many schools.
Learning To See takes money, talent and commitment.
You can help.
